Lake Purrumbete is an attractive volcanic lake that fishes well for trout and chinook salmon. With an average depth of 45m and a maximum depth of 60m it offers good angling opportunities from bank and boat.
The lake is spring fed and forms the source of the Curdies River which flows into the ocean near Peterborough. Boat access is available by entering through the caravan park.
There is a cafe on the Lakes Edge, Lake Edge Cafe, which can also be accessed by Purrumbete Estate Road.
Plenty of depth and feed to grow and hide monster catches.
Species include rainbow, brown. tiger and cheetah trout, chinook and Atlantic salmon, redfin (English perch)
Good access for bank fishing
Boats can be launched from the concrete ramp in the caravan park
